Project Overview
The Problem
Despite age, obesity is a condition that is shared by many Americans, stressing the need for better education, prevention, and treatment methods.
The Goal
This app would provide users with nutrition information, recipes based on their dietary preferences, and meal planning guidance.
It would also provide personalized recommendations based on their goals and provide feedback on their progress. This would allow users to make informed decisions about their health, and help them stay motivated to make better dietary choices.
The reserch
I was able to identify common questions and topics related to obesity in America. This allowed to develop interview questions that would provide more in-depth insights related to the topic, which were then used to conduct the actual interviews. Most interview participants attributed their poor eating habits on their hectic and busy lifestyles. It was found that users felt that if they could easily find the right nutritional information, as well as receive advice on how to make better food choices, then they would be more likely to make healthier eating decision. Step 2
To further advance my research a targeted audience was chosen based on demographics and criteria that made them the ideal people to gain insight into the research topic. The competitive audits were conducted in order to acquire a better understanding of what similar businesses were doing and what strategies they were using. This gave me an idea of what works and what doesn’t in the current market, which allowed me to optimize my research.
UNDERSTANDING THE USER
Problem Statement
Masih is mainly devoted to work and he finds it difficult to make time to cook meals at home. As a result, he is often eating out or ordering take away meals, which are not as healthy as home cooked meals.
Competitive Audit
An audit of a few competitor’s products provided direction on gaps and opportunities to address with the Healthy recipe app.
User Journey Map
Mapping Masih’s user journey revealed how helpful it would be for users to have access to a dedicated recipe health app.
Ideation
My focus was specifically on healthy recipes and nutrition tracking. I looked at ways to differentiate our offering from competitors, such as providing information about nutrition and health tips, as well as creating an easy-to-use recipe search engine.

THE
APP
Based on the insights from the usability studies,
I added a search bar on top of the page, this allows users to more easily find what they are looking for, as it is more intuitive and allows them to quickly narrow down their search. A, having the most recent views listed at the top of the page allows users to quickly find what they need without having to search through the entire page.
In addition to adding a clear time descriptor This can help users quickly identify recipes that are appropriate for their lifestyle and preferences without having to sift through lengthy explanations. It also allows them to customize their results according to the time they have available to cook meals.
